Good Morning Mommy!!

Sunday morning, Ethan woke up before I went to work.
Which is pretty early for him, latley he has been enjoying sleeping in
(I have been waiting for that day for 4 1/2 years now).

Anyways, he came into the bathroom and I noticed some stringy stuff on his shirt, but I assumed it was a string from his shirt so I ignored it.  Then he says to me "Mommy, can you get this thing out of my hair"?  He turns around to show me what looks like blue and purple gum in his hair...which is what also turned out to be all over his shirt.  After realizing he was playing with silly putty right before bed, he must how some how snuck it into bed with him and slept ON it!!

So I was already running late for work, and now I had to try and figure out what to do with this mess.  It was all over his pajamas, and all over his sheets too.  So I dealt with those things and left the hair for Nick.  I figured he had given it to him to sleep with, so he could clean it out of his hair!! :)

I had no clue silly putty could turn into a substance so similar to gum, or I definetley would NOT have let the Easter Bunny put it in his basket!!  Nick ended up getting it out with ice...basically freezing it out!  Ha!  What a silly boy we have...can't wait until it's really gum.

Self Feeding!!

It's official.  Sam will not let you feed him anything anymore.  And don't even think about giving him food without a fork!  He want's to eat everything that his brother eats...even if it's going to be a huge mess!  He actually does pretty good, yesterday, he only spilled 1 noodle...all the rest made it to his mouth!!  He is growing and becoming Mr. Independent really fast!
practicing with mac-n-cheese

yogurt....a little messy

Our Easter

This year, Ethan really wanted to color eggs....last year he had no interest.  So we colored 18 eggs.  And he still wanted to do more.  Sam had his 1st egg hunt, and he picked up on what to do pretty quickly.  As soon as he discovered what filled the eggs...he wanted MORE!! :)  The boys both got matching easter jamies from the Easter bunny, and the Easter bunny even made a pit stop and Grandma and Grandpa's house and brought Ethan the game he has been asking about for a long time...Mario Kart!

I had Sammie dressed in a super cute special Easter outfit, and right when we got home from breakfast he found a full glass of OJ that was right at his reachable level, and spilled it all over his white button up shirt...and khaki pants.  It mostly came out, but wasn't dry in time to wear the rest of the day! :(  There went our family picture!!  It was a beautiful day, perfect weather!

We had dinner and Grandma and Grandpa's house and had a few other guests Uncle Mike and Judy!  Always so great to see them!

New Adventures

This past week it has finally warmed up enough to be outside with the boys.  Nick has started to work on his benches again, along with all the other projects he has going on.  Samuel just loves being outside...just the freedom of running around or chasing Sadie.  Ethan comes outside for just a few minutes before he is ready to go in again.  He has never really been a big fan of the little pools either, but I think Sam is just going to love it!

Sam has had many firsts in the last week or so.  Like:
walking on grass for the 1st time - which he thought was really weird at first
swinging - likes it but not too high or he gets really scared
blowing bubbles - more like spitting on the bubbles, or trying to blow them out like birthday candles
and tomorrow he will have his first Easter egg hunt in the backyard.

I filled all the eggs today, with candy.  When Ethan was Sam's age, I remember filling those eggs with grapes and coins for his piggy bank!  We would have NEVER allowed candy!!  Hahaha, funny how things change with the 2nd child.  I can definetley see how the 1st has to "pave the way" for the younger siblings!!  Poor Ethan, but I know he can handle it!  He's the "first born"!!

Addicted to gaming!!!

14 Weeks

Well, we are now onto week 14!!!  I put a poll up on the blog for you to guess if you think it's going to be a boy or a girl.  6 more weeks until we find out...your guesses would be fun to see!  I guess boy, because I have been having so many boy dreams latley!!  I have been feeling alot better latley.  Not so nauseated at the sight of everything.  My energy level has come back a little bit too.  Which is just in time.  The sanding of mud and drywall is done downstairs, and there needs to be some MAJOR cleaning before we can start to prime and paint.  If you want to come occupy my kids while I clean...please do, or if you'd rather clean while I occupy my kids...by all means, COME OVER!!!

I am so glad to have the weather warming enough to get the kids outside to play.  Sam could play all day outside.  Ethan doesn't care so much for it!  Two totally different boys!  Speaking of Ethan, last night we went to home deopt for tile, and Ethan had a melt down on the way out because we said no to Pringles on the way out.  Well he was screaming and crying as we walked out of Home Depot, which you know, will draw some attention.  About halfway to the car, Nick asks Ethan why he is so upset.  Ethans response was priceless.  He said "Because I wanted those damn chips".  It took everything in me not to laugh as I scolded him for cussing.  Sometimes that kid's got a bit of a mouth on him.  And other times, he looks at you with his sweet blue eyes and says "Mommy, your my best friend, I love you so much", and it just melts your heart!

Nose picking and animal squeezing.

Maybe I was raised with 3 brothers for a reason!?  To prepare me for all the things boys do.  Ethan is just such a sweetie.  Only picks his nose in private, but gets so embarrassed when you catch him.  He's such a lover!

Now Sam, he's not shy about it.  He just dives right in.  And if you see him, he laughs and does it longer.  Below Nick had all the clean laundry folded on the couch.  Sam climbed up with his spatcula and "flipped" all the clothes and shoved them all under the couch.  Nick was thrilled to say the least.  And I was too, because now I still got to fold the laundry,
even after Nick helped out!

Well Ethan is all registered for pre-school again this year.  He will go 3 days a week now.  To prepare him for the 5 days a week of kindergarden he will be doing next year!!  He's growing up too fast!! :(

If you ever see him doing this, IGNORE him!!!  He thinks its great fun to say "no no" when he does it.  He might have a stretched out notsril by the end of the year!
Oh, by the way, check out his hair.  Hanging in his eye, and curls UP in the back!  It's so cute.  I can't bear the thought of cutting it.  Even though he desperatley needs something done with it.  I just love the messy look he's got going on with it!!

No More Dungeon!! ;)

Well this was the entrance to our basement before...just about a few weeks ago.  Dark, narrow and "dungeony".  Definetley felt like a basement.
This is the suprise mess I got when I came home from work one night.  Nick is notorious for that.  But overall, it was a really good suprise.  If you can't tell, where the chair is, there used to be a wall there.  Those are electrical wires hangning...trying to figure out what to do with them as it kinda threw a wrench into our plan.
This is how it looks now.  Half wall.  Very open and inviting.  Electrical wires hidden!
No more ceiling that goes down with you as you head downstairs.  It's completley open all the way to the top.  All new drywall.  No more barn red! :)
Now when you are standing in the kitchen you can see who is coming in the garage door.  So the boys can't be hiding any guests into the basement!! :)  It looks 150 times better.  I am so proud of Nick for tackling all these jobs by himself...and honeslty sometimes I think he just wings it and hopes for the best!! :)

My Best Friend.

Sam and Ethan have become the best of friends.  They do still fight, but most of the time they can be found, helping each other, sharing, hugging, kissing.  Ethan won't kiss Sam on the lips unless his paci is in his mouth, otherwise it's always on the cheek!! :)

These boys love each other so much.  I can tell Sam looks up to Ethan, and just adores him!

Last week of my 1st trimester...

Today begins week 13, the last week of our first trimester. That's reassuring!!  For the past week, I have not had as many sick days, and have not been as tired.  Not too much energy, but I don't have to pry my eye balls open all day!! ;)  Last week we had our 1st trimester ultrasound.  Everything looked great!!  Was measuring a few days small...but not going to change anything just yet.  The baby is about an ounce now.
And, of course I asked about the sex.  The tech told me it was too soon to tell!!  So we will just have to wait another 6-7 weeks to find out, trust me, the anticipation is killing me!!  Otherwise we are so relieved the baby is healthy!!
