Let the nesting begin!!

Highlights from my 36 week appointment:

weight: 3 lb. weight gain over the last 3 weeks
blood pressure:  120/70 good!
belly measurement:  36 weeks...right on!
fetal heart rate:  165, good
major complaint:  clothes getting tight...just get me through 4 more weeks please, and not sleeping very well, as it is very hard to find a comfy spot anymore.
Dr. orders:  enjoy the last 4 weeks of sanity!! (those were more like my orders)
I always wonder how far to go with this on a blog...since people do read it...but I am just going to go with it.  I am NOT dilated at all! :(  So on that note...I will be cleaning and washing and doing everything I can to get moving!  I'd prefer to NOT be overdue, thank you.  I do feel like my belly has gotten lower recently...maybe?  I don't know, maybe it's just a wish, or maybe the baby is SO HUGE that he is pulling my belly down...(hope not).  If you notice though...my belly kinda hangs out the bottom of my shirts now...that's interesting, especially when working and trying to fit into unisex scrubs!
I am down to weekly appointments and have 4 left.  Can't believe it!  This is going to happen soon!!!! :)  Yeay!!!

Another outfit for Baby G

Here's another cute outfit I made for the babe.  Not the onesie of course..but I did make the pants and add the cute little dino to the onesie.

{yes...that's my belly in the bottom of the picture.  Didn't even notice it until just now...do you see which side of the belly Baby G prefers?!}

Basement Update

I know.  It's a mess.  STILL.  It's definitely slow going, but hey...now we have something to motivate us now with only 4 weeks left until baby comes!!  I think Nick works better under pressure! ;)  We have 99% of the walls painted, all expect living room.  Trim is all up, just needs primer and paint.  Doors are all hung, needs primer and paint.  The floor and shower are done in the bathroom, need to set the vanities and toilet.  Next task?  Picking out and ordering carpet.  Everything else is minor and can be done after comes comes if need be!

{so this is coming down the stairs, to the right is laundry room, straight ahead is the family room, and the other doorway you see is Ethan's room.}

{Bathroom view from Ethan's room - I think Ethan is excited for a new tub!}

{ bath view from Sammie's room, that's the wall where the 2 vanities will go}
{I'm sure Nick is going to kill me for putting the picture up...plumber crack and all - I just wanted to show you all what a hard worker he is!! - Love him!!}

{View of Ethan's room from Bathroom.  There will eventually be trim around the middle of the room to separate the 2 colors}

{another view of Ethan's room from corner}

{Looking out from Ethan's room into family room and upstairs}

{Samuel's room from corner - door on left is bath.  Their room colors are similar but not the same.  Bottom color is the same, but top color in Ethan's room is more blueish, Sam's is more greenish}

{View of Sam's room from entryway}

{another view of Sam's room.  I'd like to make the little corner area into some shelves.  We HAD to put that wall there to be able to access some water meter thing}

{Family Room and Ethan's doorway and a glimpse of the vanities}

{Family room and the laundry and upstairs}

{Family Room - door on left is furnace room - door on right is Sam's room}

I think we are both SO relieved that this HUGE project is just about done.  I seriously cannot wait to have no more drywall dust tracked throughout the house and to feel a lot more comfortable when the boys are going down the stairs once carpet is in place!  I think the next "major" project will be taking apart Ethan's bunk bed to somehow fit it downstairs.  And if you ever get the pleasure to sleep on the top bunk, you won't be able to roll over. {I;m kidding...kind-of...I really don't think it's "that" close to the ceiling - only time will tell!!}

Homemade Baby Stuff!!!

I have been making baby stuff like crazy!  I will think of something cute, and then not stop thinking about it until I have made it!!  Check these things out:

{super soft 100% cotton and minky blanket with stitched on big letter G, and matching onesie with little g}  Isn't that just the cutest fabric you have ever seen?!? :)
{this is definitely going in the hospital bag!}
{I used yellow thread floss to stitch around the little g on the onesie}
{then we have the completed crib bumper!  Apples are on the outside}
{and the inside is lime green polka-dots...even completed with pockets for a bedtime story or other little goodies!  And of course this matches the quilt I had already made for him.}

If you are interested in a blanket and onesie set, e-mail me at jenethanick@gmail.com and we can discuss!! :)

Lots of H2O

The Falls

A couple weeks ago Nick and I took the boys down to The Falls Park, and we couldn't believe how much it had flooded.  We have gotten a record breaking amount of rain this year, and we still have 2 maybe even 3 months of rain left.  It is so sad that so many people have lost so much, even their homes, this year because of all the rain.  The boys thought seeing the water go that fast was pretty cool.

Life in 3D.

{sorry - it's hard to get a clear picture during a car ride!}

I took Ethan to see Toy Story 3 {3D} lats weekend, and we got to wear these special glasses.  Well I left them in the car after the movie and ever since they have become Sam and Ethan's sunglasses every time we go somewhere.  Sam even wanted to wear them INTO the grocery store the other day...I had to put a stop to that.  You should see them in person.  Even funnier than the picture!!

Choco Chip Cookies

First, comes the lip lick.....

Then comes the "I'm gonna shove it all in my mouth at once"....

Yes.  These chocolate chip cookies are that good.  Trust me, not 'cause I'm pregnant, but because I really don't LOVE chocolate chip cookies...but I did love these.

Here's the recipe:
  • 2 1/4 C. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 C. packed brown sugar
  • 1 pkg. instant vanilla pudding (3.4 oz)
  • 1 C. (2 sticks) room temp. butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract (I didn't have any so I used almond extract)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 pkg. choco chips
**In large bowl place butter, baking soda, salt, brown sugar, vanilla pudding, extract and eggs.  Mix until creamy.  Gradually add flour and choco chips.  Bake for 9-11 mins.
ENJOY!!! :)
