Stick Letter
I've been slacking in the baby's nursery decorations. Partly because he doesn't even sleep in there...so what's the point really?! I think we are FINALLY moving on from the colicky nights and onto a more sleep filled night. He is doing really well on the Zantac for his silent reflux as well. Overall he is just a much better baby. He still has his moments, and still like to arch his back, but compared to even 2 weeks ago, things are much more relaxed! Praise the Lord because I go back to work in just a little over a week! :( I am so sad!! It has been SO NICE to be home with the boys on the weekends and during dinner time. I am really going to miss that, ALOT!
Anyways, I was looking on the Pottery Barn website and saw how CUTE this was:

So I decided to make my own. Luckily, the yard was FULL of sticks and leaves, and it was yard work day...so I stocked up!! It was kind of difficult finding sticks that would bend and ended up using branches that were still "alive". But it worked! A little {or a lot} of hot glue did the trick! I like how it turned out. And the wall colors are almost the same color! Griffin's room is pretty sparse though. Nothing hangs on the walls...and the cute bumper I made for him sits in his closet. {Mostly because is doesn't fit in there when the crib mattress is on the highest level, and because I washed it and the insides got tangled beyond belief, so I had to seam rip it open and fix it, and have not had the time, or desire, to sew it back up! I am going to paint little stars on his wall around his crib eventually...probably when he's 2!

Happy Birthday Grandma Kris!!
Grandma Kris lives right across the street, so it was really easy for us to wish her a Happy Birthday!! I decided to make something special for her this year. I found a tutorial for a gathered clutch, and thought she would just love it! Here's how it turned out:
and the inside:
It even has pockets for her debit/credit cards! Another one to come for Grandma Debbie's Birthday! The zipper actually wasn't too bad, that was the 1st time I had sewn a zipper. I am pleased with how it turned out! You should try this cute little gathered clutch for yourself!

No Mans Land...
This morning, Nick asked me for a needle and thread. I was wondering what in the world he was going to do with it. I think he got sick of asking me if I had fixed his pants yet, and hearing "No babe, not yet"!!! So he decided to tackle it himself! :) Nothing like seeing a man sit on the couch watching Gangland sewing his pants...
He was trying the fix the massive rip in his jeans, because I kept telling him I didn't know how to fix it without it looking quite silly. Any ideas? It's ripped straight down for about 8 or 9 inches just above the knee...I mean I could always patch it like a 4th grader would....what do you think?

That time of year...
I can't believe it's already time to break out the Christmas decorations. The neighbors got me beat! They already have garland wrapped around their railing! I did get out the Christmas tree to put downstairs and discovered that half the lights don't work. That made me very grumpy and unmotivated to do anymore! I need to get to work. And I have NOT done any crafts since before the baby came! I am getting the itch to do something crafty! So today I made this:
A gumdrop wreath for the holidays! Don't you love how Christmas-y it feels? I do! Want one? E-mail me! (jenethanick@gmail.com) Want to make one for yourself? Go HERE. I hope to get all my decorations out before Thanksgiving so I can spend the weekend making lots of crafty things with Breanne! I am so excited, it has been over a year since I have seen her! Hope you are enjoying your weekend!
